Projects are often judged by how well they meet scope, schedule, and budget. Yet from the customer’s perspective, those measures mean very little. What matters is the experience created—how easy something is to use, how quickly it delivers value, and how reliably it solves a real problem. This course introduces a critical shift in thinking: moving from an internal view of project success to an external, customer-centered perspective.

By the end of this course, you will be equipped to see your work through the customer’s eyes, allowing you to make better decisions, reduce experience gaps, and ensure that your projects deliver meaningful, measurable value where it matters most.

By the end of this course the student will be able to:

  • Discuss how to evaluate project outcomes from the customer’s perspective by identifying where project work directly or indirectly impacts the customer experience.
  • Define how to analyze points of friction and misalignment within a project to determine where internal decisions negatively affect customer value, including delays, complexity, and usability gaps.
  • Describe how to apply customer-centered thinking to project execution by adjusting decisions, priorities, and approaches to improve the overall experience and value delivered to the customer.
